Tok Melanesia is a discussion forum open to all human beings on the planet. All contributors are welcome to add their thoughts to one or more topics. But you cannot create a topic yourself.

The Forum Moderator only can create topics.

Forum categories correspond to the menu sections listed on the site's homepage. Topics created by the moderator are designed to coincide with and add to content published on the main part of the site. Contributors are encouraged to read this content before making a comment.

Forum discussions are not open-ended. That is, a topic will have a beginning and an end. Usually, the lifespan of a topic - e.g. two weeks - will be specified. The moderator reserves the right to summarise a selection of posts and publish them on the main part of the site.

Contributors are expected to respect the views and sensitivities of the Tok Melanesia community. If you believe this respect is not being shown, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Contributors are welcome to carry on discussion in one of the common tongues of Melanesia: English, any Melanesian pidgin, Fijian, French & Bahasa Indonesia. If you feel a discussion can be better carried in a single tongue, you can request that a monolingual topic (e.g. Pidgin only) be created  by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The moderator reserves the right to translate non-English postings into English without consulting the author.

Telinga Media supports and practises transparent writing and sourcing. In line with this policy, contributors are encouraged to create usernames that reflect their real names. In the end, however, the choice of forum identity is yours.
